The Amelia Payson House is a beautiful 1845 Greek Revival Bed & Breakfast, located in the downtown Historic District of Salem. Named Yankee Magazine’s “Editor’s Choice” and one of Fodor’s “Best B&Bs”, the Amelia Payson House has private baths, AC, cable TV, and WiFi. The Amelia Payson House is closed from mid-November through March. During those months, the visitors may opt to stay at The Salem Inn. The Salem Inn comprises three historic homes offering accommodations rich in history with a proud tradition of service and comfort. Each building has been meticulously restored and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Both Inns offer an excellent location, just a short walk to museums, restaurants, shops, and train station.

The Essex Shipbuilding Museum tells the extraordinary story of a small New England village that built more two-masted wooden schooners than any other place in the world. Open Wednesday through Sunday from June – October; open Saturdays and Sundays only from November – May.

Two passes to Historic New England’s Phillips House (www.historicnewengland.org/phillipsmuseum)

Historic New England's Phillips House, located on Salem’s distinguished Chestnut Street, holds a unique collection from five generations of the Phillips family. The federal-style carriage house contains antique cars and carriages. Open June 1 - October 31, Tuesday through Sunday & November 1-May 31, Saturday and Sunday.

 

Two tickets on the Salem Trolley (www.salemtrolley.com)

Venture aboard for a fun and memorable journey through Salem's fabled past. The narrated one-hour historic tour aboard a replica turn-of-the-century trolley stops at major area attractions. Take the tour or use the trolley as an all-day shuttle between attractions. Valid April through Sept. 30; not redeemable in the month of October.

 

Two passes to the Salem Witch Museum (www.salemwitchmuseum.com)

The Salem Witch Museum brings you back to the Salem Witch Trials of 1692. Visitors get a dramatic history lesson using stage sets with life-size figures, lighting and a narration, along with a tour of an exhibit “Witches - Evolving Perceptions.” Open year round 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. daily; 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. in July and August, extended hours in Oct.

 

Two tickets for a sail aboard the Schooner Thomas E. Lannon (www.schooner.org)

Come aboard this beautiful 49-passenger Essex-built schooner for a sail around Gloucester's scenic harbor. Help raise the sails, or just sit back and relax. Offering two-hour sails on weekends throughout May and June; daily sails starting in late June -   July and August; and weekend sails again from Labor Day through Columbus Day weekend.

 

Two admission tickets and parking for the Topsfield Fair (www.topsfieldfair.org)

Enjoy the oldest county fair in the U.S. with free grandstand shows, livestock and poultry shows, horse- and oxen-pulling, draft horse show, flower show, 4-H display, beekeeping, opening day parade, Grange exhibits, antique tractor display, and Giant Pumpkin contest. 2008 Fair dates: October 3-13. Hours: Friday, 4p.m. - 10 p.m. and 10 a.m.-10 p.m. for the duration of the fair.
